In Context: Event Logging for Usability

Using event logs for usability analyses has a rich history in the HCI Field. For a complete review, see Hilbert & Redmiles (1999) (PDF). They propose a categorization of methods for supporting event log analysis. Here's a mapping of those categories to Uzilla features:
Event Log Analysis Categories Expression in Uzilla
Synchronization and Searching Integration of survey data with task and page progress
Transformation Abstraction of mousemovement into vectors
Counts and Summary Statistics Time on page, time on task, mouse miles per task
Sequence Detection Back button sequences
Sequence Comparison Observed vs optimal path
Sequence Characterization More fine grained measures of optimality and error on the way.
Visualization Intra page and page flow viz
Integrated Support Usability testing protocol support is a key aspect of Uzilla.
