Trying out CamStudio
I've created a sample Flash movie at 5/frames per second recorded with the default Microsoft video codec using the free "
CamStudio" package, mentioned back in
April .
The
codec issue
is a much larger one if you don't want to do the Flash
conversion. Turns out, Flash is easily addressable by timestamp
so it's a nice solution.
So
the movie shows a usage scenario of tabbed browsing (1mb Flash) in the Mozilla browser family. Tabbed browsing has been a big hit, and
uzilla.org is looking to document it's usage.

Mark Safire's input on remote testing was a bright spot to the UPA
conference, incorporating much of the inspiration of the
RT workshop.
His new site,
remoteUsability.com, looks at different systems for screen sharing for a process distinguished as
remote "moderated" testing. The slides from the talk are available on the site.
Uzilla, LLC uses a Citrix based solution for screen sharing in addition
to doing event based screen recording from within the browser UI.
